Lassi is a traditional yogurt-based drink from India. What sets it apart from your average smoothie, is an element of spice! There can be both savory and sweet lassis. Traditionally, it’s often savory, spiced with ground or roasted cumin.
We chose to make sweet, fruity style lassi for a hot summer day. We made two flavors: Strawberry Basil and Mango Cardamom. Treat your friends to this refreshing beverage, using cultured yogurt.
Our directions are not precise because everyone has their own smoothie preferences. Use good judgement and don’t over-spice. Remember, a little cumin and cardamom goes a long way.
1 small box of strawberries
2-3 TBSP of greek yogurt per smoothie
1 TBSP of honey per smoothie
1 bunch of basil
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract per smoothie
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cardamom
juice from 2 limes
